"Jock Brown"
Based in Newcastle-under-Lyme the club was founded in 1959 by the late Dr John A. W. Brown (picturered here).
"Jock Brown", who was from the Isle of Arran, was a general medical practioner in the Chesterton area.

The classes were first held in the Holditch Miners Institute, moving
to Chesterton Community Centre in 1968.

Today's classes continue to be held in the Community Centre on a Wednesday evening from 8 pm - 10 pm during the months of September through to May. Summer classes are held in the United Reformed Church Hall, Victoria Street, Chesterton every alternate Wednesday.

The club has an annual dance in December and a President's Night in March, plus other events for members throughout the year.

The club has strong links with, and supports, the many other clubs and societies within the Staffordshire and Cheshire area. It is affiliated to the RSCDS.
